Newly-appointed Springbok attacking coach Tony Brown wants to help Manie Libbok realise his potential after holding a one-on-one session with the flyhalf.

According to Sunday newspaper Rapport, former All Blacks flyhalf Brown held a kicking session with Libbok on Monday, after meeting the DHL Stormers star during the recent Springbok alignment camp.

“Manie is an exciting player,” Brown was quoted by Rapport.

“I enjoyed meeting him and talking to him. I want to understand his philosophy about attacking rugby.

“I am excited to work with him. I hope to help him become a world-class player.”

Since making his debut in November 2022, Libbok has played 14 Tests for the Springboks, scoring 87 points. He started the 2023 World Cup as South Africa’s go-to flyhalf in Handre Pollard’s injury-enforced absence.

However, Pollard recovered in time to take the No 10 jersey back from Libbok for the World Cup final, after replacing him 30 minutes into the semi-final against England.
