The most popular jerseys in SA franchise history now go head-to-head to crown a winner!

After unveiling the top jersey from each of the Vodacom Bulls, Cheetahs, Lions, Sharks and DHL Stormers, it’s time to pick an overall winner.

In ’99, Bobby Skinstad led the Men in Black, a side stacked with Cape legends such as Breyton Paulse, Percy Montgomery, and Corne Krige.

Despite a semi-final loss to the Highlanders in the Super 12 tournament, the side left a lasting impression with a remarkable six-game unbeaten streak, showcasing impressive rugby while donning their iconic black jerseys.

The Sharks dominated Super Rugby in 2007, topping the log to book a semi-final clash with the Blues, whom they beat 34-18 in Durban.

Despite their strong run, last-minute magic from Bryan Habana sealed a 20-19 win for the Bulls in the final, leaving the Sharks heartbroken in their iconic jersey.

Building on their momentum from 2009, the Bulls won ten of their 13 league matches in 2010 to top the log and book a semi-final against the Crusaders at the Orlando Stadium.

After thumping the Crusaders 39-24, the Bulls pulled off a memorable 25-17 win over the Stormers in the final, which included a sensational solo try from winger Francois Hougaard.

Coached by Johan Ackermann and Swys de Bruin, the Lions’ electrifying running game was a major highlight of the 2016 Super Rugby season.

They secured a spot in the final after defeating the Highlanders 42-30 in a thrilling semi-final at Ellis Park, but the Lions couldn’t match the Hurricanes’ defence and kicking game in the final, suffering a disappointing 20-3 defeat in Wellington.

Joining the 1997 Super 12 tournament, the Free State Cheetahs stepped in after Western Province’s failed to make the Currie Cup top four in 1996.

The Cheetahs’ season was a roller-coaster ride, securing five victories out of 11 matches, finishing seventh on the overall log in their one and only Super 12 tournament before joining forces with the Lions to create the Cats the following year.
