Livewire scrumhalf Bolla Conradie was the heartbeat of the DHL Stormers and gave everything for the team.
Conradie played 18 Tests for the Springboks between 2002 and 2008, but it was his irrepressible fighting spirit in the DHL Stormers jersey that made him a favourite among The Faithful.
Conradie, who also represented DHL Western Province and the Boland Cavaliers in his 15-year career, stood out in an era of talented scrumhalves plying their trade in the shadow of Table Mountain.
He wrestled fellow Bok Neil de Kock for a starting berth after making his debut for the DHL Stormers in 2002, and competed bravely with Ricky Januarie, Dewaldt Duvenage, Paul Delport and Conrad Hoffmann until his departure in 2010.
The former SA Schools livewire impressed with his incisive running game and crisp service, and his opportunistic play caused plenty of headaches as he exploited the half-gaps between lumbering forwards on the fringes of the breakdown.
Conradie missed a considerable chunk of his DHL Stormers seasons due to injury but still amassed 77 caps, and was a sought-after player when crowds streamed to Newlands and camped outside the stadium for hours to see their heroes in action.
