Ulster on Wednesday confirmed the former Blitzbok as their first signing for next season, with the move to be completed when his contract with the Sharks ends later this year.

Since joining the Sharks from Toulouse in 2019, Kok has 55 appearances in all competitions, scoring 14 tries. While he started out as a utility back in Durban, he has held the No 14 jersey over the last two seasons, starting in all but three games in 2023-24.

Kok is the third player to be confirmed as leaving the Sharks in recent weeks. Centre Rohan Janse van Rensburg negotiated an early release from his contract to make a mid-season move to Japanese side Canon Eagles, while lock Le Roux Roets will be joining England’s Sale Sharks next season.
