Double world champion RG Snyman’s fitness hangs in the balance ahead of Munster’s Champions Cup clash with Northampton Saints on Sunday.

The Springbok powerhouse missed the Vodacom URC title-holders’ recent victory over Cardiff due to illness and alongside teammate Calvin Nash (leg), remains uncertain for the last 16 clash at Franklin’s Gardens this week.

Snyman’s potential absence looms large over Munster’s European aspirations, especially considering the 29-year-old lock’s significant impact since returning from a long-term injury.

He was sidelined with a chest injury sustained during the Rugby World Cup final in October, undergoing surgery in November before making his return in early March.
