The injury-marred Jacques du Plessis has bid farewell to the Vodacom Bulls, departing for England in hopes of resurrecting his career overseas.

After a much-anticipated return in 2021, the towering lock played just 10 games for the Pretoria outfit. Hampered by hamstring and knee issues, Bulls CEO Edgar Rathbone told Netwerk24 that the 30-year-old Du Plessis will continue his rehabilitation at English Premiership outfit Bath.

Coached by former Springbok assistant coach Johann van Graan, Du Plessis will look to secure Bath’s favour before the end of March for medical clearance.
