Springboks vs Scotland: A quick history lesson

The Springboks and Scotland have enjoyed a rich history when it comes to Tests over the years – dating back to 1906.

The first Test between the two countries took place at Hampden Park in Glasgow on Saturday, 17 November 1906 – a little under 120 years ago.

Scotland won the match 6-0.

That match was the first on South Africa’s first official international tour.

It was also the tour in which the Springbok nickname was coined.
