The Springboks successfully got through their season-opener against the Barbarians, claiming a comfortable win and giving players a handy hit out, but Rassie Erasmus did admit some concern when veteran utility forward Franco Mostert went down with an ankle injury.

“I’m worried about his ankle,” Erasmus said at that time. “He’s going for scans and hopefully it’s not too bad. ‘Sous’ doesn’t normally come off the field if it’s not serious.”

During a press briefing on Tuesday, though, the Springbok coach said the good news is that it seems the injury is not as serious as first feared.
