The Springboks and Lions have suffered a major setback after scrumhalf Morné van den Berg was ruled out for up to six months following bicep surgery.

Van den Berg underwent surgery on Wednesday and will miss the remainder of the United Rugby Championship (URC) playoffs, as well as a significant portion of South Africa’s Test season.
