A strong second half showing by the Waratahs secured a 23-14 victory over the Force in a Super Rugby Australia clash at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

It was all the visitors in the first half, however, with scrumhalf Ian Prior opining the scoring for the Force, with a penalty in the 13th minute to give them a 3-0 lead.

The Force then extended their advantage through wing Byron Ralston who sped over in the right hand corner for an unconverted try and a 8-0 lead in the 28th minute.

Two further penalty from Prior pushed the lead out to 14-0 before the Waratahs struck on the stroke of half time with a converted try by prop Angus Bell.

That saw the teams hit the shed with the Force leading 13-7.

The Waratahs went on to dominate the second half, with Tom Staniforth crossing the whitewash and Will Harrison adding a converstion and three penalties to help the home side run out easy 23-14 winners.
