Bok veteran Willie le Roux reclaims his place at fullback when the two-time reigning world champions return to action this season, according to SARugbymag.co.za readers.
Damian Willemse, the incumbent Bok fullback, has been ruled out for four months with a finger injury, which means the Stormers playmaker will miss the series against Ireland and the 2024 Rugby Championship.
Readers were polled on a candidate to fill the voice and, unsurprisingly, 93-Test Le Roux was the clear favourite with 33% of the vote.
Next in line was English Premiership star, Tyrone Green – the Harlequins fullback garnered 17% of the vote after a stellar season in London.
Sharks fullback Aphelele Fassi was close behind (15%) followed by Stormers fullback Warrick Gelant ( 14%).
The option to shift winger Cheslin Kolbe to the back only received 11% of the vote while Lions fullback Quan Horn finished with 10%.
