Four players from Vodacom URC club Ospreys have reportedly joined the Cheetahs on a short-term loan, as part of a player development partnership between the teams.

According to Netwerk24, Will Hickey, Lewis Jones, Cameron Jones and Tristan Davies have linked up with the Bloemfontein outfit this week as part of an exchange agreement between the Cheetahs and the Welsh club.

It is understood that due to paperwork that has yet to be finalised, the quartet will not be able to fully participate in training yet, but will be with the Free Staters for six weeks.

Veteran Cheetahs lock Victor Sekekete, centre Evardi Boshoff and loose forward Jeandre Rudolph recently featured for Ospreys as they reinforced the squad during the Six Nations.

The trio follow in the footsteps of Dan Kasende, Marnus van der Merwe, and Rewan Kruger, who joined Ospreys late last year for a short period in the first player loan agreement.

Currently not part of the URC, the Cheetahs were knocked out by Clermont in the round of 16 of the Challenge Cup, and will fully refocus on their commitments in the inaugural SA Cup.
