The Sharks have unveiled towering lock Jason Jenkins as their latest signing in what will be a significant boost to John Plumtree’s second row next season.

The widely expected transfer was announced by the Sharks on Tuesday afternoon, with Jenkins making his way home from Irish giants Leinster, after previous stints with Munster and Toyota Verblitz.

The 28-year-old made his only Test appearance for the Springboks in 2018, but was called up to the wider training group in preparation for the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

He is one of several new signings announced by the Sharks in recent weeks, with Bok world champions Andre Esterhuizen and Trevor Nyakane also set to move to Durban.
