Milnerton produced the upset of the weekend by coming from behind to beat Rondebosch, while Affies ended their losing streak against Pretoria rivals Garsfontein.

In one of their most impressive results, Milnerton came from 33-3 down in the second half to beat Rondebosch 34-33 in Cape Town’s southern suburbs.

Rondebosch took a 19-3 lead into the break and appeared to be cruising to a comfortable victory when that lead was increased to 30 points  in the second half.

However, Milnerton rallied and scored 31 unanswered points, including 17 points in the final 10 minutes, slotting a touchline conversion to seal a sensational victory.

Staying in the Western Cape, Paarl Boys High shrugged off three yellow cards to claim a narrow 19-10 win against Oakdale, while outside centre Marcus Muller scored a hat-trick to steer Paarl Gym to a 47-13 win over Boland Landbou.

The big game in Pretoria saw Affies beat Garsfontein 33-31 for their first win against their rivals in three years.

Affies, who lost the last two games against Garsfontein, were 33-17 ahead in the second half, but had to hold on against a strong comeback effort.
