The Vodacom Bulls have reportedly secured the services of Pumas playmaker Devon Williams on a permanent basis.
According to a report on Netwerk24, the on-loan Williams will extend his stay in Pretoria after the Bulls successfully bought out his contract, originally set to expire in October.
Pumas head coach Jimmy Stonehouse was quoted on Monday that Williams will be a significant loss to the 2022 Currie Cup champions.
“It is a very big loss for the Pumas,” Stonehouse told Netwerk24. “I think the Bulls definitely benefit from that. After all, he has a good left kicking foot.

“He is an incredibly good rugby player and was worth his weight in gold to us.
“It might not be fun for us, but it’s Devon’s future. This is the 14th guy that has left us. Especially with so many experienced players gone, his experience would have meant a lot to us.”
Despite facing stiff competition among top Springboks at the Pretoria outfit, the seasoned campaigner has excelled in the Bulls’ back three, and previously expressed his desire to make the move to Loftus Versfeld a long-term one.
“It is definitely where I would like to end off my career,” Williams, who can play fullback, wing and flyhalf, said at the time.
