Kurt-Lee Arendse and Elrigh Louw were among the top individual performers from the round of 16 of the Champions Cup, as the Vodacom Bulls cruised to secure a first-ever place in the quarter-finals.

The Vodacom Bulls demolished French side Lyon 59-19 in Pretoria, setting up a quarter-final clash with Northampton Saints in England.

According to Oval stats, Arendse emerged as one of the best performers of the round. The winger won the joint-most turnovers (four) in the round of 16, while he also ranked second for metres made (119) and third for defenders beaten (nine).

Arendse’s teammate Louw made more post-contact metres than any other player in the round of 16 (32). He also won three turnovers against Lyon – as many as any other forward.

In what was a very impressive attacking display from the Bulls, they scored nine tries, which according to Opta Stats, is the most any side has scored in a Champions Cup knockout game since 1998.
