Rassie Erasmus says the Springboks openly discussed their long Dublin drought as they prepared for Saturday’s crunch showdown against Ireland.
South Africa have not beaten Ireland in Dublin since 2012; meaning conquering the Irish at the Aviva Stadium remains one of this Springbok team’s final unticked boxes.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Erasmus admitted the Springboks’ winless run in Dublin is not ignored inside the camp in the lead-up to Saturday’s Test. The Springbok coach said the topic “definitely comes up,” and also revealed why he believes the fixture carries unique importance for both teams.
