On Wednesday the Sharks confirmed that a urine sample produced by rising SA rugby star and junior contracted player, Kai Pratt, returned an adverse analytical finding relating to a prohibited substance on 10 April 2026 in Stellenbosch. The results were released on 22 June 2026.

The player elected to have his B sample tested on 7 July 2026.

“As this is a confidential and ongoing process, we are unable to comment further on any specifics relating to the matter,” a Sharks statement read.
