The United Rugby Championship (URC) semi-finals have been confirmed to take place this Saturday as Leinster, the Bulls, Sharks and Glasgow all battle it out.
The aforementioned quartet had been seeded as 1 down to 4 after ending the regular season in those spots respectively, and home field advantage paid off in the last-eight.
Glasgow Warriors kicked off the quarter-final weekend with a 36-18 victory over the Stormers at Scotstoun as they returned to form in front of their home supporters.
Saturday drama
Saturday’s URC triple header began with the Bulls v Edinburgh, and the South African side managed to come through that game with a 42-33 victory over the Scottish outfit.
Following that, Leinster managed to edge an impressive Scarlets side to win 33-21 before the Sharks won a penalty shoot-out against Munster after a 24-24 final score.
Ultimately, those results mean the URC semi-finals will see Leinster take on Glasgow Warriors at the Aviva Stadium before the Bulls host the Sharks at Loftus Versfeld.
The Leinster v Glasgow clash will take place at 14:45 (BST) / 15:45 (SAST) and the Bulls v Sharks is scheduled for 17:15 (BST) / 18:15 (SAST), both on Saturday, June 7.
Of the semi-finalists, only Glasgow Warriors have previously won the United Rugby Championship title, while the Bulls were runners-up in the 2022 and 2024 Grand Finals. The Sharks make their first-ever appearance in a semi-final, while remarkably, eight-time league winners Leinster are still chasing a first final appearance in the URC era.
This weekend’s blockbuster knockout ties will be live in the United Kingdom and Ireland on Premier Sports, TG4, and RTÉ, with SuperSport broadcasting all the action in South Africa. FloRugby will carry the games in the United States, while URC.tv will stream the last-four matches in selected international territories, including the Republic of Ireland.
