The Stormers on Tuesday named a 30-man touring squad for a
two-match URC tour to Wales and Ireland.
The Stormers will face Scarlets on Llanelli this Saturday (17:00 SA time), before facing Irish side Ulster in Belfast next Friday (28
March).
The Cape franchise welcome back fit-again Springbok backline
duo Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and Damian Willemse, as well as lock Connor Evans
and winger/centre Suleiman Hartzenberg. Outside back Luke Burger is the only
uncapped player in the group.
Springbok flyhalf Manie Libbok, who has struggled with
concussion of late, is not included in the squad. Jurie Matthee is the other
flyhalf option.

Elsewhere, Bok flank Ben-Jason Dixon will undergo
surgery on his wrist this week, which ruled him out of contention. Scrumhalf Stefan Ungerer, who is recovering from a groin strain, and prop
Neethling Fouche, who will welcome the arrival of his second child this week, will also stay behind in Cape Town.
The Capetonians are 12th on the URC
table on 28 points, but only a point behind the eight-placed Lions.
They are, therefore, still very much in with a shot at
making the top eight playoff spots and will also look forward to having four
games at home to conclude the league phase.
Those four home games are against Connacht (April 19),
Benetton (April 26), Dragons (May 10) and Cardiff (May 16).
Stormers director of rugby John Dobson said it was
vital for them to get some points on the road.
“This tour is crucial in the context of our campaign,
we want to take some good momentum into the home run which starts in April.
“It is fantastic to welcome back a few key players and
they are all keen to make a big impression,” Dobson said.
