There will be a new name added to the United Rugby Championship champions list as Leinster and the Bulls meet in the final at Croke Park.

The top two teams after the regular season have both progressed to the finale in Dublin on Saturday, June 14.

Route to the final

Leinster were made to work hard for their 33-21 victory over the Scarlets in the quarter-final, but were utterly dominant against the holders Glasgow Warriors this weekend.

Dan Sheehan and Jamie Osborne grabbed two tries apiece as Thomas Clarkson and Ciaran Frawley added the finishing touches to an emphatic six-try 37-19 victory.

Meanwhile, Jake White’s Bulls dispatched Edinburgh 42-33 in their quarter-final before downing the Sharks 25-13 courtesy of Sebastian de Klerk, Canan Moodie and David Kriel tries.

The men from Pretoria will now head to the historic Croke Park to tackle the Irish giants with the blockbuster final kicking off at 17:00 local time on Saturday, with the home of the GAA and Ireland’s most iconic sporting arena hosting its first-ever rugby Grand Final.

Leinster v Glasgow: Five takeaways as Leo Cullen’s side still have a ‘mental block to overcome’ despite setting the record straight

The clash pits Ireland’s most decorated province against South Africa’s most successful club side as the two teams look to lift the trophy for the first time in the URC era.

White’s men will be hoping that third time is the charm after losing the inaugural showpiece event to the Stormers before falling to Glasgow last season, while Leinster will be competing in their first-ever URC Grand Final.
