Legendary South Africa Sevens superstar Seabelo Senatla has been added to the Stormers Champions Cup squad after the Cape side was forced to make some changes through injury.
The former World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year’s return is nothing short of miraculous as a serious arm injury sustained in a severe car accident has kept him sidelined for 19 months.
Senatla was a key member of the triumphant Stormers side from the first United Rugby Championship season and has become somewhat of a cult hero in the Cape.
Stormers fans will be delighted to have their speedster back and, according to News 24, Senatla is fit and available for selection against Toulon at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Returns at a cost
However, Senatla’s inclusion comes as a result of Steven Kitshoff and Damian Willemse being removed from the roster due to injury. Kitshoff recently had serious neck surgery and his career hangs in the balance while the full-back is out with a groin issue.
Also being added to the squad is front-row and Junior Springboks skipper Zachary Porthen, as well as highly rated youngster Jonathan Roche, who will both be relishing the chance to feature in the senior side.
The Stormers will hope to find a bit of relief in the Champions Cup after a rocky start to their United Rugby Championship season that has seen the Capetonians only win two of their opening six games.
It does not start lightly in the Champions Cup for John Dobson’s men with Toulon having sent their full-powered squad to South Africa for the season opener. The clash will take place in Gqeberha with the DHL Stadium in Cape Town hosting the Sevens this weekend.
