The 2025 Rugby Championship match schedule has been confirmed, with the tournament being played from 16 August to 2 October.

Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa have all announced their match venues for the 2025 edition of the tournament, with kick-off now finalised.

Springboks kick off their title defence at Ellis Park

The Springboks will kick off their title defence at the famous Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg on August 16, the opening weekend of the Championship, with New Zealand heading to Argentina.

SANZAAR have confirmed that the mini-tour format will remain in place, with each team to play six matches comprising three home matches and three away matches. Each team will host a two-match tour, play an away two-match tour, and play a one-match home and away series against the third remaining team.

The Bledisloe Cup home and away Tests between Australia and New Zealand will take place in Perth and Auckland this year, with South Africa and Argentina meeting in Durban and London.

The London fixture will be only the second time a Rugby Championship match has been played outside of the four core territories of Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

SANZAAR have confirmed that ESPN, Stan/NEC, Sky New Zealand and SuperSport will broadcast the tournament in Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, respectably.

Meanwhile, the Rugby Championship is set to be shown on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom, with the current broadcast deal expiring this year.

Eden Park return and London finale

South Africa will head to New Zealand following their back-to-back Test matches against the Wallabies, with rugby’s greatest rivalry returning to Eden Park on September 6.

The first Test between the All Blacks and Springboks in Auckland will be the first time the two sides have met at a famous venue since 2013, when the home side clinched a 29-15 victory. That will be followed by a meeting at Sky Stadium in Wellington.

Rounds three and four will see Australia host Argentina in Townsville and Sydney before Joe Schmidt’s side tackle the All Blacks at Eden Park in the penultimate weekend of action. The Wallabies finish their campaign on home soil, hosting Scott Robertson’s All Blacks at Optus Stadium in Perth.

The Springboks’ final two rounds of action will be against Argentina, whom they will host in Durban on October 4, before the two sides head to Twickenham for the final game of the tournament.
