Boeta Chamberlain scored 11 points as the Vodacom Bulls demolished Ulster in their second match of the 2024-25 Vodacom URC campaign in Pretoria on Saturday.

Leading 21-7 at half time, the Bulls scored seven tries in a 47-19 bonus-point win at Loftus Versfeld, following a round 2 victory over Edinburgh on the Highveld last week.

Three first-half tries from left winger Kurt-Lee Arendse, inside centre David Kriel and hooker Johan Grobbelaar – who were both making their 50th appearance in the URC – and a flawless display on goal from flyhalf Chamberlain powered the hosts in front at the break.

Ireland flyer Jacob Stockdale touched down for Ulster inside the first quarter, with scrumhalf Nathan Doak adding the extras, but the visitors finished the opening stanza with 14 men after tighthead prop Corrie Barrett saw yellow for repeated team infringements.

Bulls outside centre Canan Moodie crossed the whitewash soon after the restart, with Kriel on target with the first of his two conversions in the match, before No 8 Cameron Hanekom barged over from close range as the game entered the final 20 minutes.

Chamberlain and co-captain Elrigh Louw burst into the endzone either side of converted scores from Ulster centres Ben Carson and Stewart Moore to complete an emphatic result for Jake White’s charges.

The Bulls will now refocus for their four-match tour to Europe, which kicks off with a clash against the Ospreys in Wales next Saturday. Ulster, meanwhile, head home to cross swords with fellow Irish outfit Connacht at Kingspan Stadium in round 4.
