Three SA-born Scotland internationals have been recalled to Gregor Townsend’s match-day 23 for Sunday’s clash against Australia at Murrayfield.

Loosehead prop Pierre Schoeman and left winger Duhan van der Merwe both start, while hooker Dylan Richardson is in line to earn his sixth Test cap off the bench.

Meanwhile, No 8 Matt Fagerson, who made his Test debut in 2018, will make his 50th appearance in the Edinburgh match, anchoring a back row with Rory Darge and Jamie Ritchie.

The rest of Scotland’s starting pack that faced the Springboks two weeks ago is reinstated, with Grant Gilchrist and Scott Cummings once more forming the second row. Up front, Ewan Ashman returns at hooker, either side of Schoeman and Zander Fagerson.

Captain Sione Tuipulotu links up with Huw Jones in midfield, with half-backs Ben White and Finn Russell also returning to the run-on XV.

In the back three, Darcy Graham – the sole starting survivor from last week’s rout against Portugal – lines up with Van der Merwe and fullback Blair Kinghorn.

Townsend’s line-up is completed by forwards Rory Sutherland, Will Hurd, Alex Craig and Josh Bayliss and backs George Horne, Tom Jordan and Kyle Rowe.
