In a major boost for New Zealand head coach Scott Robertson, two former All Blacks internationals will join his backroom staff for the 2024 season.

Corey Flynn and David Hill will link up with the All Blacks coaching team this year. Flynn, a 15-Test hooker, will serve as the new throwing coach while former flyhalf Hill will offer his expertise as kicking coach.

All Blacks assistant coach Jason Ryan praised Flynn’s recent work with Super Rugby clubs, highlighting the improvements in hookers’ throwing skills under his guidance.

“We’re fortunate to have guys like Corey and David available to come into the environment regularly when we are in New Zealand and work on those very specialist skillsets,” Ryan was quoted in the Kiwi media.

Both Flynn and Hill are eager to make a positive impact on the All Blacks.

“It’s a bit of an odd feeling coming back into the All Blacks after such a long time since I pulled on the jersey,’’ Flynn said.

It’s a huge privilege to get the call up and I can’t wait to get in there and make a positive impact.”

Hill added: “Anytime the All Blacks coming calling, you want to put your best foot forward, so when Scott approached me to continue the work I’ve been doing with the kickers, I jumped at the chance.”
