Handre Pollard will make his first appearance of the season for Leicester Tigers in the East Midlands derby against defending champions Northampton Saints.
Pollard, who takes the reins at flyhalf, is expected to play a pivotal role in one of the Premiership’s fiercest rivalries.
The Springbok playmaker has been given time to recharge following a gruelling international season that saw him claim a Rugby Championship winner’s medal.
Julian Montoya leads Leicester Tigers from the front as captain, as the Argentina hooker also returns from international duty.
“Having Julián and Handré back this week is great. Both were given some time to get themselves ready for this weekend’s East Midlands Derby game and they both very excited about being back in Tigers colours against Northampton on Saturday.”
“It’s clear to me as a newcomer to Tigers, that this game has extra meaning for our club, players and fans alike, and we are looking forward to what that challenge will bring and its absolutely great to be a part of it.”
