Paarl Boys High and Paarl Gimnasium both claimed wins ahead of next weekend’s Interschools, while Noordvaal Cup action heated up with Garsfontein breaking a losing streak in Krugersdorp.

The school season will reach its apex next weekend when Paarl Boys and Paarl Gim clash in the annual Interschools.

Paarl Boys High warmed up for the match by claiming a hard-fought 12-3 win at Boland Landbou, avenging last year’s stunning 26-22 home defeat.

Paarl Gim, meanwhile, faced Durbanville for the first time since 2019 and came out on top in an entertaining 45-20 win.

Another Winelands giant, Paul Roos, continued their unbeaten season by beating Stellenberg 28-3. Paul Roos will next face Boland Landbou, before the much-anticipated clash with Grey College on 17 August.

In the Noordvaal Cup, Garsfontein claimed their fifth win in six games with a 31-28 victory over Monument. It was Garsfontein’s first win in Krugersdorp since 2018.

There were also wins for Noordheuwel against Waterkloof (53-32) and Helpmekaar against Marais Viljoen (62-24).

Staying in Gauteng, Affies ended their season on a high with a 48-5 victory against Pretoria Boys High, while KES and Jeppe bagged wins against Maritzburg College and Parktown Boys respectively.
