Ruan Venter and Quan Horn have returned to strengthen the Lions in the Currie Cup clash with the Pumas in Johannesburg on Saturday.
Lions coach Mziwakhe Nkosi has recalled the Springbok duo as the third-placed Lions look to close the three-point gap on the unbeaten Bulls.
Venter replaces the injured Ruhan Straeuli, with Jarod Cairns shifting to No 8. Horn, meanwhile, comes in at fullback in place of Gianni Lombard, who also misses out due to injury.
The other major change to the starting lineup sees playmaker Bronson Mills given a chance at flyhalf in the place of Sam Francis, who suffered a shoulder injury in the win against Griquas in Kimberley.
On the bench, Sibabalo Qoma returns from injury with a possible appearance for Sivu Mabece at tighthead prop.
