Former Australia head coach Eddie Jones is reportedly set for a showdown against his old team when his Japan side hosts the Wallabies in November.

According to a report by The Roar, the November 2 match will be part of the Wallabies’ preparation for their Grand Slam Spring Tour in the UK and Ireland.

The clash, just a week before Australia faces England at Twickenham, marks nearly a year since Jones’ dramatic departure from the Wallabies. Jones quit shortly after a disappointing 2023 Rugby World Cup for the Aussies.

The proposed Test will be the Wallabies’ 14th match of 2024, a demanding schedule that Jones’ replacement Joe Schmidt is understood to welcome to ensure his team stays sharp.

It is believed that NRL star Joseph Suaalii may make his international debut during this tour, following a development path similar to Marika Koroibete’s switch to union.
