Former Wallabies winger Wendell Sailor is set to return to the Sydney courts in January after an alleged alcohol-fuelled bar incident.
The 50-year-old faces multiple charges stemming from an altercation at an establishment in the city centre.
Prosecutors disputed claims by Sailor’s lawyer that police intended to drop one assault charge. The matter has been adjourned until 20 January.

A prolific try-scorer who represented Australia in both rugby league and rugby union, Sailor boasts a decorated career.
He scored 13 tries in 37 Tests for the Wallabies between 2002 and 2005, and was a key player in the 2000 Rugby League World Cup.
His sporting journey dramatically shifted in 2006 when a drug test resulted in a two-year suspension and contract termination with the Australian Rugby Union.
