Caelan Doris will skipper Andy Farrell’s 35-man Ireland squad announced for the November Tests against New Zealand, Argentina, Fiji and Australia.

The Leinster loose forward, 26, led Ireland in their Six Nations victory over Italy in February and in the win in the second Test against South Africa in July.

Farrell has included two uncapped players in his squad for November’s four-match series in Dublin, which starts with a fixture against New Zealand on 8 November.

Uncapped pair Cormac Izuchukwu and Sam Prendergast, who were part of Farrell’s tour squad to South Africa, will be hoping to earn their debut caps.

Regular skipper Peter O’Mahony is included in the group and will continue his rehabilitation with Munster next week.

“It is an enormous honour to be named Ireland captain and I am excited about leading the squad into battle over the coming weeks,” said Doris.

Ireland coach Farrell said: “The challenge that awaits us this November is one of the toughest we could face, and I would like to congratulate each of the players on their selection.

“There is a blend of youth and experience, but all of the players are selected on merit.”
