Two-time World Cup-winning Springbok centre Damian de Allende has expressed his desire to eventually return to South Africa and finish his career with the DHL Stormers.
The Bok midfielder, who joined the Panasonic Wild Knights in Japan from Irish giants Munster last season, made 118 appearances for the Stormers and DHL Western Province after his debut in 2012.
He recently extended his contract for three more years but if he remains fit and continues to develop, De Allende hopes to don the Stormers jersey again before calling time on his illustrious career.
“There is only one team I will come back to and that is in Cape Town,” he told Sunday newspaper Rapport.

De Allende believes his experience in the Far East will help him stay fresh and competitive through to the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia.
“As long as we keep buying into that plan and keep developing, staying fit and hungry to play, I can’t see why all of us can’t go to the next World Cup,” the 84-Test campaigner added.
He cites Ireland icon Johnny Sexton’s longevity as inspiration, adding, “Even if most of us are going to be 35 or 36.”
The 32-year-old veteran emphasised the benefits of playing in Japan, including less travel and a shorter season.
“The rugby is not easier in Japan. Not at all. Many of the matches are incredibly physical and fast,” he said, while appreciating the increased rest and family time.
