Eben Etzebeth notched up another monstrous outing as the two-time World Cup winner showed his quality at lock for the Springboks in the shadow of Table Mountain.
Etzebeth, the second-most capped Bok with 126 Tests and one away from Victor Matfield’s all-time record, continues to prove his immense value in the green and gold jumper.
Widely regarded as one of the world’s best enforcers, the second-row juggernaut was instrumental as the world champions beat New Zealand for a record four times in a row to claim the Freedom Cup at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday.
Rassie Erasmus made seven changes to the team which defeated the All Blacks in Johannesburg two weeks ago, with Etzebeth recalled to the starting XV in the engine room.
The 32-year-old made 20 tackles, beat two defenders and clocked 53 metres with nine carries as well as two offloads.
