The Vodacom Bulls have reportedly jumped at the opportunity to boost their depth in the front row by signing a powerful scrummager from the Cheetahs for next season.

According to Sunday newspaper Rapport, prop Alulutho Tshakweni is set to join the Bulls from the 2024-25 campaign.

The former Junior Springbok will provide Jake White with another option at loosehead, Tshakweni’s strong ball-carrying and set-piece prowess a boost for the Pretoria outfit in the Vodacom URC and Champions Cup.

However, it is understood that the Bulls have bid farewell to lock Merwe Olivier, who has opted for an overseas stint with an as yet unknown club, but have gained former SA Schools star Jaco Grobbelaar.

Meanwhile, speculation continues around negotiations with DHL Stormers loose forwards Nama Xaba and Junior Pokomela.
