On Friday night, France claimed a massive 43-0 win over Wales to start their Six Nations campaign in style, but it didn’t impact the rankings all that much due to the fact that Warren Gatland’s team are ranked as low as 11th.
In Saturday’s fixtures, Ireland claimed a hard-fought win over England, but that result against the side ranked seventh in the world also didn’t offer up any rankings points.
With the Springboks still enjoying a two point lead at the summit of the rankings, there was a minor change for sixth-placed Scotland, who were able to improve their ranking by 0.23 after a good win over Italy.
