The Stormers could potentially lose the services of Springbok loose forward Ben-Jason Dixon, who reportedly wants to leave before his contract expires.
Dixon made a name for himself at the Stormers and from there he rose into the Springboks’ ranks, earning five Test caps between June and September in 2024.
Despite his now enhanced profile, the Stormers managed to tie down the Springbok down on a contract extension which would see him remain in Cape Town until at least 2027.
But according to News24, that relationship is now so strained that Dixon could reportedly leave the Stormers two years before his current deal with the union expires due to ongoing contractual disagreements.
News24 reports that the 27-year-old Springbok, currently sidelined with a wrist injury, is embroiled in a dispute over the interpretation of a release clause in his newly signed deal.
If the parties fail to reach an agreement, Dixon’s camp may pursue arbitration – a move that could potentially relieve him of his contractual obligations should the ruling favour him.
