Springbok captain Siya Kolisi recently returned to the Sharks following a dismal time at Racing 92.

The double World Cup winner has helped steer South Africa to number one on the world rankings, winning 11 in 13 games this year, which entailed lifting the Rugby Championship trophy, clearing next-best New Zealand by eight points.

Kolisi has become the pride of Africa and a formidable flanker, often breaking tackles and gaining ground on all sides of the pitch, which doesn’t come cheap.

Kolisi’s salary

  • Annual: R18 610 529,00
  • Monthly: R1 550 877,42
  • Weekly: R357 894,79
  • Daily: R71 578,96

Rassie update following surgery

I’m not going to show the pictures because I don’t think it’s worth showing. All OK, I think I will be out of the hospital by the weekend,” the Springbok coach confirmed.

“I wanted to thank the fans for the amazing support this year. Even when we tried some things and things weren’t going well, you were always standing behind us.”

“To our players who made it into the Dream XV and Sacha nominated and almost got it there, we are all proud of those guys,

“I hope you have a great time over the festive season. Fortunately, we have the URC now and some of the boys are playing, to all the fans I hope you have good holidays.

“Let’s stay nice and humble, support each other and help us keep our feet on the ground. We play for you guys and for South Africa, also for those abroad who understand and see what we stand for as the Springboks – I appreciate that a lot.

“At the end of the day, it is all just a game that we are all proud of. Merry Christmas and hope you all have a lekker festive time. I will probably only hop on Twitter next (year) again. Cheers.”
