The gathering followed a post on X from Erasmus on Sunday in which he extended an open invitation for fans to join him and his Bulldog, Frank, for a 6km walk.

A large group of Springbok supporters showed up for the opportunity to meet the national coach on what was a perfect morning in the Mother City.

Post-walk, Erasmus extended his gratitude for the turnout.

‘Thank you to everyone who was down at the beach… for making it fun,’ Erasmus said in a video posted on X.

‘We all know its bigger than having fun and about more than giving out presents. It’s a nice time for your kids to be happy, for you to be happy and for your family, but we all know there’s a much bigger purpose,’ said Rassie Erasmus.

‘For those who are religious, who know God provides for us, it was a nice way to say: “Thank you”. We know what an important day this is, and let’s keep it that way. Love you all, and Merry Christmas!’
