Jaden Hendrikse joined Cheslin Kolbe and Manie Libbok in taking shots at goal during training ahead of the Rugby Championship title decider against Argentina on Saturday.
This comes as Libbok was heavily criticised following a last-minute penalty miss in the Springboks’ loss to Argentina in Santiago del Estero last weekend.
Libbok and Hendrikse have been paired for the first time as the starting Bok halfbacks against Argentina in the title-decider at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.
After naming the team on Tuesday afternoon, Rassie Erasmus hinted that the Boks could share the goalkicking responsibilities, with Kolbe also back in the team.
“We have made some plans on the way we want to play and Manie’s role at 10 this week, and we have made some plans around goalkicking which will help people out,” Erasmus said.

Kolbe was trialled as a goalkicker for the Springboks during the 2022 November tour of Europe, slotting five penalties and two conversions in games against Ireland, France and Italy.
While he has rarely been relied upon as a go-to goalkicker in his senior career, Hendrikse did have the responsibilities when he played for the Junior Springboks at the 2019 U20 World Championship, kicking eight conversions and four penalties in five games.
