While Australia has tended to be a graveyard for the Springboks in the past, the world champions have produced some stunning moments Down Under, including some brilliance from Bryan Habana and Willie le Roux.

Saturday’s Rugby Championship opener will see the Springboks return to Australia for the first time since 2022, as they take on the Wallabies at a packed Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

The last time the Springboks were in Australia, saw Rassie Erasmus’ side come away with a 24-8 victory in Sydney, as Canan Moodie scored on his Test debut.

Having lost 11 out of 12 Tests since 1996 – with their only victory coming in 2013 – the Boks will need to banish their Brisbane hoodoo if they want to get their campaign off to a winning start.

The Boks will be able to call on the experience of Le Roux, who scored and assisted a try to seal a 38-12 win in 2013.

Prior to 2013, the Springboks last tasted victory over the Wallabies in Australia in 2009, when Bryan Habana scored a brace of tries in a 32-25 win.
