Siya Kolisi proved Rassie Erasmus was right to back him against the All Blacks as SARugbymag.co.za readers’ standout performer after helping the Springboks claim a historic victory in Cape Town.
In a poll after the final whistle, 24% of fans decided that Kolisi had the greatest influence as the Boks came from behind to beat the All Blacks 18-12 at a sold-out Cape Town Stadium.
Kolisi scored a try to cap an excellent solo performance after the Bok captain was initially ruled as doubtful for the match due to the nasal bone fracture he suffered against the All Blacks at Ellis Park.
The loose forward also made nine tackles, won a turnover and carried for 27 metres before being replaced by Kwagga Smith with 20 minutes to play.
Cheslin Kolbe, who marked his return to Cape Town by beating three defenders and making a clean break, earned 18% of the vote, while try-scorer Malcolm Marx earned 16% of the vote.
