The Bulls will kick off a fully charged day of action on Saturday when they host the Northampton Saints in Pretoria in round two of the Champions Cup.

Jake White’s team will look to make the most of their home ground advantage and the warm weather conditions when they welcome their English visitors to Loftus.

The Bulls will be desperate to bounce back strongly from their disappointing 27-5 defeat against Saracens away last week, and maintain their unbeaten run in Pretoria this season.

The men in blue are currently lying third on the URC table, which will serve as a huge motivational factor against the Northampton Saints, who may be lying in eighth place on the Premiership standings after three wins in seven outings, but who come off an emphatic 38-8 victory against Castres Olympique last weekend.

Looking back at last weekend, the Sharks started the weekend on a bright note when they defeated Exeter Chiefs 39-21 in Durban on Saturday afternoon.

However, that was to be the only win of the weekend as the Stormers lost 24-14 to Toulon on the same day at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, and that was followed by the Bulls’ 27-5 evening defeat to Saracens in London.

In the EPCR Challenge Cup, Perpignan kicked a late equaliser to deny the Cheetahs a famous victory in Amsterdam, while the Lions found the going tough against the Ospreys in Llanelli.
