Hooker Dan Sheehan says Leinster won’t be lacking motivation ahead of Saturday’s Vodacom URC Grand Final at Croke Park.

The Irish giants are preparing to face the Vodacom Bulls in what promises to be a high-stakes clash in Dublin.

Leinster have suffered three consecutive URC semi-final exits and recently missed out in the Champions Cup. Their last major title came in 2021, and the pressure to end the drought is mounting on Leo Cullen’s men.

The Bulls have a strong record against Leinster, winning four of six URC meetings to date. That includes a famous 2022 semi-final win at the RDS Arena and two recent victories at Loftus Versfeld.

SHEEHAN THROWS SHADE BULLS DESIRE FOR VICTORY

But Sheehan is adamant that Leinster’s determination will be unmatched when they take the field this weekend.

“Absolutely no way,” Sheehan told RTÉ Sport when asked if the Bulls could want it more.

“We’ve had six weeks to focus on the URC. We’ve been trophyless for too long. The hunger is definitely there.”

He insists that no team can be hungrier than this current Leinster group, who are desperate to deliver silverware.

“You can feel the buzz,” Sheehan added. “People are excited. It’s another final to look forward to.”

Sheehan praised the team’s performance against Glasgow Warriors in the semi-final, but said improvements are still needed.

“The first conversation after Glasgow was that we need to up it a level. Finals are different.”

He acknowledged the Bulls’ winning history against Leinster in the URC, but believes it could inspire his team to rise.

“That might be fuel for the fire,” Sheehan said. “They are a dangerous team. We need to be all guns blazing.”

Saturday’s match at the historic Croke Park venue will be the first URC final hosted in Ireland. With both teams topping the league standings this season, the showdown promises to be intense.
