Teenage rookie Gino Cupido was swarmed by his team-mates after running all of 95 metres to score in his first appearance for the Springboks Sevens.
South Africa’s five remaining tries came via Quewin Nortje (2) and one each from Siviwe Soyizwapi, Shilton van Wyk and Ricardo Duarttee.
The Blitzboks led 19-0 at half-time.
The Springbok Sevens side will next face Australia at 14:39 (SA time) in Pool B before wrapping up their commitments against New Zealand on Saturday at 07:43 (SA time).
New Zealand beat Australia 21-12 in their opening group match.
